Apple is adding the Passwords app to iTunes for Windows

Huh. Seems like an odd choice, I would have expected it to be part of iCloud for Windows, iCloud.com, or maybe a browser extension.

You can even get to your logins and passwords on a Windows PC because Apple is adding the Passwords app to iTunes for Windows.

Well that seems ridiculous. Let me know when they publish browser extensions.

i mean this is basically all the same functionality passwords has had for many many years, just now in a separate app.

You had to go dig deep in Settings to delete or change a password. Now it’s in a built-in app.

Also, family sharing, one-time passwords, and Passkey support are all exact functionality of several third-party password managers.

well yeah, they have added features to it over time. This isn’t all new stuff with the app this year.

Look I get that you can call it sherlocking to some degree, just not to “a whole new level” as you put it earlier. It was born from password saving in safari, which web browsers have always had, and evolved from there. Also also keypass on Mac to a lesser degree.

You could always quickly access it by just searching passwords on spotlight

I think this will be a hard sell unless you’re already all into the Apple eco system and don’t need access from other devices. Or you don’t use any password manager already.
