“This movie’s a real opportunity for me to really explore the Val character. You really get to know what she’s made of, and even a lot of her backstory. She’s in it to win it,” she said. “You’re going to see her entire plan unfold. It has a lot of mystery to it and there’s some twists and turns that you don’t see coming, which are the best kind. There’s a lot of suspense, which is very groovy.”
I think the story here is obvious, but I wish Val had been handled better.
Originally supposed to appear at the end of Black Widow, instead appeared in Falcon and the Winter soldier, which was actually fine. But recruiting made sense, going after Barton didn’t (unless she’s teamed up with Kingpin).
Black Panther 2 appearance gave her more backstory, but ultimately I’m not sure it worked.
I hope this movie can clarify/fix whatever she’s been planning.
She did appear in Black Widow didn’t she?
I don’t remember her in BW2 though.
I should have clarified, originally supposed to DEBUT in Black Widow.
In Black Panther she is Everett Ross’s ex wife.
