Why would they end the series? Take a hiatus if needed, but then make a new one in a few years. It can be entirely self-contained or connected to the multiverse as you like, even after the focus shifts away from the multiverse.
I assume they will reboot/revive it in a few years, this talk of “finale” is just to build hype.
Plus I assume The Watcher will learn something this finale and the reboot will feature a different Watcher or other type of character.
