1 year agoI think they mean IF the license for old users changes, other companies have done that before. I’m on the same boat as him, if my UnRAID license suddenly means I need to start paying again I am switching.

They mean that they aren’t offering another solution.
I use Pingvin only thing it does not have is sharing with registered users but it seems that feature has been requested so might be added at some point.
At some point with the old device you agreed to Amazon saving used WiFi networks on your account, it asks you during setup of all Amazon internet connected devices. All Amazon has to do is connect the device serial number with your Amazon account ID, which is one of the options when you buy an Amazon device.
