That’s a fair question. It’s mostly just my observation, but if I were obligated to guess, it is partially filtering based on the types of people who are active and readily express their opinions on various topics, but also because of the reasons people moved to lemmy in the first place, many of whom were evicted from reddit because they were too extreme.

There are a lot of people, especially on lemmy, who see everything through the lens of their personal ideology and utterly lack the ability to empathize or understand different views or life situations. You only matter to them insofar as to how it can advance or support their ideology. It’s pathological, and their views should be ignored.

As long as people keep in mind what Wikipedia is, there should be no issue. There’s a reason teachers never allow it as a source, but it is great as an introduction to any topic, from which point you can further your own research.

Interesting idea, because my boxer briefs support my balls in the middle, but my dress pants have one seam down the middle, so when I sit for prolonged periods I get a seam uncomfortably squishing my equipment. If instead the seam was always resting to one side or the other, I wouldn’t have that problem. To fix this, we should either have underwear that better accommodates a middle seam, or my preference would be pants with a built in pouch similar to underwear. It would accentuate the “bulge”, but we could get used to that.

Fear seems like the go-to strategy when you have the weaker candidate. During the Obama elections, the only thing Republicans could do was try to scare people into voting for them, since they knew they couldn’t beat him. The strategy turns from focusing on the strength of your own candidate to focusing on the flaws of the opposing candidate. Democrats entire strategy at this point is maximizing fear of Trump. Not sure why it’s so hard for them to get rid of Biden and put up a real candidate, but it looks like a flaw in the nomination process.

No that’s the whole point of the post
