    Ah yes it would perhaps rub her the wrong way…

    That user did do a good job of being in character, I thought. They would reference something like “everybody has to see my new hit film…” in a way that was over-the-top enough for to come across as a joke to me.

    Perhaps we can both at least give them kudos for providing us an early debate point on the fediverse impersonation conundrum!

      it was definitely meant as a joke, it just wasn’t funny. It’s like saying those half-assed “characters” in Times Square are funny when in reality they’re just a nuisance.
