I think two shots to the head can do the trick. I’ve seen stuff that mentions shooting before they spit is two shots, but after they spit is four shots. Not sure if there’s any truth to that though.
Edit: Also worth pointing out that you can shoot their bile sack on the underside of their tail, which will prevent them.from spitting.
I’ve heard some people actually don’t shoot them in the bile sack (lol) if there’s a bunch of them. Their spit has friendly fire, so you can actually get them to kill each other… assuming you also survive.

It has to be two shots to the forehead - mouth won’t work. Doesn’t matter if they’ve already spit.

If only I would be so lucky for them to friendly fire. Often times the only thing keeping me alive is my 50%-chance-to-not-die armor lol.
Love when there’s a horde behind me and the titan just absolutely cleans them up. Like thanks bro, still gotta kill you though.
