I’m 26F, and these last two years my body has gone crazy… Is this normal? And how can I control this? Would regular masturbation help or something? It really makes me go crazy romantically speaking too 😅 like having weird fantasies and attractions for random people. So I would really like to control this better. I first noticed a big change after I stopped smoking… I’ve also been exercising a lot so maybe it’s that?

    M43, always had a high sex drive, the only way I’ve found to get my mind off of it is a good orgasm. It’s normal, and might just be something you’re stuck with.

    Sudden, drastic changes in behaviour might be an indication of a medical issue. I suggest you get examined by your GP to rule this out. If it isn’t a medical issue then relax and deal with it however you feel comfortable.

    Getting healthier likely improved it. As long as you release it in a healthy and safe way that doesn’t drastically interfere with your life, you’ll be fine. Enjoy!

    sexual fantasies and high sex drive are perfectly fine as long as you keep it to consenting parties, no shame in experiencing these things

    i imagine regular masturbation would help somewhat but its up to you and how much time you have tbh

    the thing to always remember is that these fantasies and this sex drive dont mean anything about your morality, and dwelling on it will likely make you worry more.

      I’m not worried, it’s just that I didn’t expect this… I was actually a bit unprepared. Early 20s I had no sex drive at all compared to now 😳and compared to my peers too, it thought they were animals haha

        I mean, there’s no shame in exploring your sexuality and getting laid, just be safe and healthy about it. Just keep in mind men have feelings too. Self satisfaction can help satiate, but there’s no substitute for the real thing.

    Exercise is a big one. Stopping smoking probably helps too. More blood flow, the body feels better…so it wants to make babies! Lol

    Smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc are known for suppressing the sexual drive. Looks like that whatever you changed restored it to “normal” levels.

    As what to do about it. I’d recommend keeping it to fantasies, toys and masturbation until you find a safe way to practice it with other people. People can be weird about sex making up all sorts of rules and procedures about what you’re supposed/allowed to do. The only valid rule is that everyone has to be participating willingly and enthusiastically.

    I was heavily medicated as a kid and adolescent so when I stopped taking meds I experienced what you’re describing here (I’m a guy tho). Masturbation definitely helps! Buy a hitachi wand or a nice dildo (or both!) and have fun. Go on one of the dozens of hookup apps if that scratches the itch better!

    Excited for you to get your libido back. It can be a lot of fun :)

    Going to go against the grain a bit here. Exercise and the other stuff mentioned here had the effect of making it stronger. However, everything changed when I dealt with my anxiety. You know how lowered sex drive is a “side effect” of many medications? It’s because the two are linked. Though I’m not advocating for medical treatment per se. Just keep in mind that there could be other factors going on.
