compared to, say, a orangey for up connecting 8 inch boards in edge they do.
There were actually a couple spots where I had small cracks afterwards. I could have had a few more clamps on honestly.
Cracks as in the joint wasn’t as tight as you like?
Yeah the joint just didn’t get as tight as I would’ve liked in a couple spots. But after planing and sanding, staining and varathane it’s not really noticeable.

What do you think of Varathane? few retailers in my area carry anything but Minwax products.
This was my first time using them and just their clear finish. It was actually my first time clear coating anything so I don’t have much of an opinion but it seemed to go on easy, very minimal brush strokes left behind but the ones I can see are likely due to my lack of experience.
Given urethane often has a reputation for being tricky to brush on with good results, I’m going to take this as a ringing endorsement.
