Hi there, I was hoping someone could help me I.d my dreamcast, I cant seem to find anything online about it
I had a regular dreamcast as a kid but I bought this one a few years back for the nostalgia
Looking to sell it but not even sure what a fair price would be as I bought it many years ago for hardly anything and I’m not actually sure about what it even is
Looks like someone tried to make a bootleg Code Veronica Dreamcast.
Possibly just a modified Dreamcast
Here’s a shell replacement that is very similar to your dreamcast
Looks like an aftermarket shell. Ultimately nothing too special, not sure of the current going eBay price off the top of my head. What model does it say on the sticker on the bottom?
I have always wanted a Dreamcast, I do not even know what games I would want for it. At this point I am worried if I get one it will kill the illusion of how awesome the system isis.
A significant chunk of the Dreamcast’s library is nearly pixel-perfect arcade ports, since the machine itself is basically a slightly cut down instance of Sega’s Naomi arcade hardware. And almost everything that isn’t is an absolute banger classic. There are very few duds in the Dreamcast’s entire lineup. The situation is basically the reverse of the N64’s library.
The only games i remember for the N64 were Star Wars racer (i got the one that came with that cartridge), golden eye, and another star wars game, maybe shadows of the empire?
You want Crazy Taxi at a minimum but damn near every game is a legit classic. The odds of getting a bad game are lower than any other system ever made but you need a CRT for the light gun to work
Outrigger wasn’t that great. It was an interesting idea, sure, but the gameplay is verh unusual especially for the Dreamcast controller.
Start with Soul Calibur and Phantasy Star Online, and Metropolis Street Racer, I spent more time with those than anything else.
It’s worth noting that the system is easy to emulate, I have it running on my Steam Deck.
Soul Calibre has me sold, that and Mortal Kombat are my top two arcade games.
Many special editions of the Dreamcast were released over the years, in a variety of different colours. However, every special edition Dreamcast that I’ve seen has had some other visual change besides just the colour.
Looking at the pictures, I suspect that your console has just been put into a replacement aftermarket shell. However, if the bottom half of the console is solid grey, and there’s a pale yellow limited edition number sticker on the back, then you have a quite rare Code: Veronica (Claire version) console. I’m guessing that if the sticker was there, though, you wouldn’t be here asking about it, as it’s a real giveaway.
That being said, it still looks cool, but I don’t think it’s going to command an especially high price or anything. The controllers were always available in a wide range of colours, although it’s funny that the beige controller on the right has the blue European swirl. I guess someone got a deal.
Biohazard DC has darker gray buttons, and a much different colored logo.
EDIT:
You’re quite right! I didn’t notice that.
I go to Japan every year with one of these on my hunting list. I’ve found a lot of rare gems, but still no Biohazard DC. 😮💨
Since OP is looking to sell it… This may be your lucky day/week/period!
OP doesn’t have a Biohazard model, just an aftermarket 3rd party red shell.
Ah, it seems I’ve misunderstood. Bummer!
