Used to be a lot of restaurants (mainly chinese/sushi, but I even remember a burger king with them) had koi ponds, and inevitably like driving past cows someone has to say “ooo cows,” Aunt Cheryl (or similar) would say “Ooo goldfish! Look everyone they have fish in the pond.”
They are crossing the drawbridge while under fire and he’s ecstatic because he just spotted a goldfish in the moat.
Maybe there is more to it, but it works as is.
Is the joke that they are raiding this place for the “gold” fish? Or is this a reference I am not getting?
