James Mangold's "Star Wars" movie is set 25,000 years before "The Phantom Menace" so that it's not beholden to any franchise lore and canon.

    That’s probably a good way to go, though I hate the idea of doing “the first Jedi.” That being said, if the movie fucks everything up, 25,000 years is a lot of time for whatever they break to be fixed and covered up.

    Can’t possibly be worse than TRoS in any event.
