Yep, I read that a Disney documentarian shoved a bunch over a cliff for a shot. Also apparently they can swim so they’ll cross water and some can drown that way but it’s hardly a mass occurrence.
That whole documentary is a lie. Almost everything the narrator says is false or misinformation invented by the script writers, and everything on screen is staged either on studios or false locations. It features several references to artic wildlife and the ocean or beaches, while the whole thing was filmed exclusively on Alberta, Canada. Which is landlocked and has no access to the artic circle. Worse docu film ever.
