I’ve been experimenting with a 2014 macbook pro retina. I basically nuked the OS and installed ubuntu on it.
I tried changing the mac address, but I always got an error message: operation not supported or I don’t have enough rights. However, the same commands work on other newer computers.
Is this particular macbook pro one with an embedded mac address you cannot change?

Don’t know if this helps. It’s basically saying it shouldn’t be connected to internet while you change the Mac adres.
