Is that correct or a typo? I ask because my chihuahua mix has overactive tear ducts and gets “boogers” and brown stains around his eyes every now and then that need to be cleaned up. Pretty sure for him it’s a genetic thing though, but maybe a diet change could help with that. Like switch from ground turkey to fish or change the vegetable mix up.
It’s not a typo, my French bulldog used to have dark brown tear stains on his face when I fed him Purina pro plan and I switched to a 50/50 mix of NUTRO ULTRA Adult Small Breed protein trio & A Better Dog Food’s Raw You Can See Alaskan salmon dry dog foods with an alternating wet food topper I mix in. (NUTRO ULTRA Adult Grain Free Soft Wet Dog Food, Variety Pack, Chicken Entrée Paté and Turkey Entrée Paté & Nutro So Simple Meal Complement Wet Dog Food Chicken and Chicken & Duck Recipes in Bone Broth Variety Pack.)
I basically do the same 50/50 dry mix every day that I pre-blended in a 30lb tub and then cycle through the 4 different variety pack toppers I mix in every 4 days.
Sometimes I’ll make him white rice mixed with ground up chicken & pumpkin puree if he isn’t feeling well; all organic. He used to really like to eat random stuff on walks, but he’s getting a lot better about it.
Anyway, now he just gets eye boogers and some light crusties I have to wipe away every day, but they leave completely clear color on his face.
