This advice is SUPER dependent on where you live. People in the Middle East have been executed for saying the wrong thing on the Internet. People in the UK have been imprisoned for saying the wrong thing online. Criticize social policy or Government in China and its quite possible you’ll be off to prison.
Even in the good Ol’ USA there’s limits to how free your speech can be online.

This isn’t a community search problem. I absolutely should NOT have to intentionally visit every single niche community that I am already subscribed too.
The USER needs a way to control their feed, either by throttling large communities or boosting smaller ones.
Let’s say I’m subscribed to !world@lemmy.world and !news@lemmy.world because I want to occasionally see news.

I was a Freshman in High School when I found my parents sex library and I read every damn one of those things, including “The Joy of Sex”, at least twice. While others were still fumbling around trying to figure out basic mechanics I was busy getting busy…very busy.
Edit: I tracked down the “Joy of Lesbian Sex” early in my Junior year of High School. That knowledge was amazingly useful until I graduated College and got married.

It’s expensive AF to operate which is why Israel has been working hard on “Iron Beam”, which uses lasers instead of missiles, to supplement it and reduce the cost of operation. Iron Beam is supposed to become active in 2025.
Ukraine doesn’t have Iron Dome because of cost and scale. Israel is 22,145 square kilometers while Ukraine is 603,628 square kilometers. It probably cost 10 Billion to build an Israel sized Iron Dome so a Ukraine sized one would cost upwards of $300 Billion and operating the thing would like be a billion dollars a month for active combat.
As an aside the United States also has ground based directed energy weapons. There’s even a 50KW mobile version built on the Stryker platform called DE M-SHORAD. 100KW+ versions are supposed to be rolling out next year.
