That is my experience too. It’s because there is no distinction between posts and comments, I think. It’s about as interesting as my sms chats with friends would be to strangers.
Every morning for the past 20 years. Mostly TWIM, but only for 20 minutes as a formal sit. Lots of short meditation breaks during the day, though. It has made me way less of an asshole, and a happier person.
I don’t remember that one, but Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards was a favorite on my PC with EGA graphics.
57 and same.
I took a smoking flight once. It totally reeked. Even as a smoker it was unpleasant. I also smoked in my hospital room after an appendectomy, which in hindsight seems absolutely nuts.
I quit 12 years ago after trying dozens of times. I credit e-cigs with helping me finally wean off of tobacco.
What a flock of raging assholes. How did they justify forcing working conditions like that on you that you clearly did not want? Did they offer any excuse for doing that?
Is this more of an ADHD thing, or an ASD thing?
I don’t like bright overhead lights, either. I was diagnosed ADHD at the tender age of 56.
Yes. I’ve been told that by cops in prior years.
That said, things have improved enormously in the last 10 years. There is a vibrant downtown area, and fairly large pockets of redevelopment around it, with safe(-ish) and affordable housing.
As a Detroiter, I think I really need to watch this.
I think most Americans like the idea of public transport, and including a robust national rail network. The reason it doesn’t exist are the oil and automotive lobbies. (Mostly oil.). Poorly educated Americans (the ones wearing MAGA hats) are easy to manipulate by these groups, as well.
Say hvad again. I double dog dare you!
Same. I bought a 4-pack of toner refills with it. I’m on the 2nd one.
I don’t know how frequently this happens, but my experience is that a link to a lemmy group was deleted by mods. It was very politely worded, and suggested and alternative community on Lemmy, and also noted that there’s no reason that somebody couldn’t read both communities. It was still deleted as “spam or self-promotion.”
That could just be a maturity issue with the mod who deleted it. It could also be that Reddit itself is doing it and simply said it was done by the mods of the group.
The video (you can skip to the last five or 10 minutes of it to get the gist of what I’m talking about) says that the discrepancy isn’t unexplained. It’s point is that the different models depend on a large number of variables, and one of those variables is the size and brightness of the first generation of stars in the early universe. Tweaking that part of the model can explain the discrepancy. (According to the video.)
Found the Brit.
