IMHO, the only benefit is the longevity of the device. Those specs are absolute overkill for today’s needs, but that iPad will remain performant for a long time.

The construction industry scaled way back in 2008, and it never really scaled back up in North America. We’re not building enough to keep pace with population growth and to replace aging homes.

Like most economists, they believe it is a supply problem. But more importantly, they claim that many North American contractors downsized or went out of business during the 2008 mortgage crisis, that industry never scaled back up, and were simply not building at the rate we were 20 years ago.

In other words, we need to incentivize and more people getting into construction.

Yeah, the more I look up this, it looks like an NFC loop is part of the MagSafe / Qi 2 protocols.

I thought that coil was the NFC coil so that the phone could identify the case and accessories. It’s only a few threads, which would be small for an induction coil.

Magsafe has magnets in the phone, the dock, AND the case for a firm connection.

Looks like there is a new waitlist for devs who want to see part 2 of Apple Intelligence.

IMHO, this is how integrations with chat GPT should work. Default to a local model or a private cloud model, and if that doesn’t work, ask the user if they want the query to go to another LLM. And let people turn off the external LLM prompts entirely.

Let make it opt it. And make opting out very prominent.
