I’ve always believed that the whole stall concept was developed by some kind of pervert.
I mean, even when they grant proper visual privacy, that’s just one of our five senses. You can still hear and smell what’s going on next door - and I swear in some cases just about taste it.
To me, “privacy” means all senses.
Not to mention having weirdos peek over the top of the stall, which has happened.
Technically easy. A baseline wiki is not a particularly complicated application.
The challenge, as always, is shifting the user base, especially content writers, when starting from a small knowledge base. You would need to offer a significantly better experience - or KYM would need to suffer serious enshittification - to have a real hope of doing that.
IMO the one feature that might make an alternative stand out is contextual knowledge surfacing. In other words, if a meme is mentioned in content somewhere, the explanation is automatically made available to the reader without needing to leave the current site/page. Kinda like how some glossary systems work, or Viva Topics before MS stupidly killed it.
It’s a bit like alt med quacks wearing a white lab coat and carrying a stethoscope while they prescribe magical water or wave coloured crystals at you.

Google isn’t a search engine any more. It stopped being that some years ago.
Now it’s more accurately described as a shitty content feed that can be weakly filtered using key words.
I just adjust feeding time by one hour. Easier for me to switch than my pets.
