This is exactly why the pond is basically jello.

Meanwhile salt and vinegar are the best flavour combination and will burn a hole in your mouth because you ate too much.
I find that the variety of emotes people have available on discord say more than I probably would half-ass with words. At least with memes, if I’m having a conversation I will not be using emotes.
every single bit of dialogue in that trailer sounded awful.
“I’m not just a pretty face” like, male Shepard was based off a super model, but it was never addressed in the games, they made him look rugged enough. This guy just seems like a glammed up clown.
I’m reminded of the classic clay sculpture cards in the TCG.
Man, he got ripped off, he had to do 10 years of practice AND he sold his soul.
Post what you want, comment on everything, make your own community, etc etc etc
I see this all the time like some kind of catch-all for complaints about how effectively dead this platform is.
Not everyone is cutout to pioneer any kind of community, let’s just assume that OP takes this advice to heart, if their interest/hobby is niche enough, what’s even the likelihood of someone else tumbling upon it? Let alone contributing. Maybe this hypothetical other person wants to contribute but they see that it’s only one other person posting anything and they figure, “what’s the point?” Maybe they don’t agree with OP’s opinions and would rather find another “community” where their opinions won’t be contested even if it doesn’t exist. There are a myriad of reasons why, this is going to happen with every channel, fandom, interest group, etc. it’s a natural part of the process. The problem lies in the simple fact that there’s fucking no one here, there are enough bodies to come and stay and go and continue the cycle until a community is established.
Yes, there are plenty of channels or w/e they’re called here, but most of them are effectively islands in a sea of shit you don’t care about (or bots.) They’re not managed, and there’s nothing going on in them. Why is it up to you the user to stop what you’re doing and make something out of nothing? When there are already communities that do exist on other platforms, even if said platforms are trash like Reddit or Xitter are. The majority of users in large communities are lurkers, they might not actively contribute, but they do share content with their own friends or interest groups and that is what’s more likely to bring people in, those people might be people that do end up contributing, or they might be more lurkers. But it feeds into the growth of the community either way.
Most of Lemmy doesn’t have any of that though, because there’s no one here.
the pov format is inherently flawed because it’s almost never actually from your “point of view”
Except they know his real name and his face, that kind of threat doesn’t work when they can just tell your country to arrest you for breaking the law.
In this case it’s a specific person that has repeatedly streamed games before their release dates, meaning he’s obtaining the games early illegally and actively encouraging other people to do the same. He makes how-tos specifically with the intention of getting more people to pirate games before they release. He’s attached his real name and face to everything so it’s no surprise Nintendo probably intends to come down harder on him than that Bowser guy they reamed a while ago.
This jackass is precisely why we can’t have nice things, he’s justifying all of the bullshit reasons these companies are against things like emulation.
It’s also better than some of the actual “content” people put out there.
I don’t think he’s covering it out of shame or anything like that, it seems more that he’s grabbing it to remind himself of his message, like “be strong.” Plus, we don’t see a panel of him having eaten a donut so it could be interpreted either way, the comic artist tends to lean towards positive messages with a cynical twist so I think that’s intentional.
DON’T EVEN THInk- *coughs and clears throat*
Don’t even think about trying to escape, the chains are far too thick.
what you’re against is piracy.
piracy of current gen games is what you’re against. As a consumer I should have the right to purchase a game (software) and do whatever the fuck I want with it, if I want to emulate Tears of the Kingdom because it runs and looks better on my computer than on my switch I should be allowed to do so. I purchased the console and the game, they’ve received my business, they should no longer have a say with what I do with my stuff.
Nintendo themselves use emulators for their products, there is nothing inherently wrong with emulation.
No one is complaining about Nintendo’s developers, they’re complaining about Nintendo the company.
The company is garbage. Anti-consumer as hell, proactively fighting against video game preservation, bullying fans out of making passion projects, the list goes on.
Literally no one is mad at Nintendo for the games they make, they’re infuriated because they make great games while the company shits on its own legacy.
what a nice shark, only eats jerks
What a miserable way to live.
