OK people really do backflips to justify why their version of gender/sexuality is the best one so I can see why the top person exists.
But the bottom one HAS to be satire, right? “Reproductive sex is forcefem” cannot be a real viewpoint. They’re mocking the top person, by baiting them into abstaining from sex outright.

Yeah I remember thr same thing. Everything else was suppose to be a package update.
But back-end technology and usage expectations change, and there’s a limit to what front-end changes an existing user tolerates. That was never a promise they could keep.
It has lasted a really long time, though. I don’t decry 11 existing. I’m upset they’re sunsetting 10 without giving us a chance to wait for 11 to get better, let alone for ‘oops we fixed the fuckups’ W12.
Am I supposed to read this as simultaneous (those jobs are currently safe… for now, the others are not) or progressive (all these jobs are human/skilled and halfway they get replaced by robots)…?
I suppose either way it’s commenting that you can’t take your position for granted. AI isn’t coming to replace you, but it is going to evolve your field, and workers that don’t adapt will be supplanted by those that do.
Nope, will probably avoid 11 as long as I can though. I have an Mvidia card (drivers are notoriously troublesome on Linux). And I need professional design software for work (as in, industry standard: Adobe or Affinity).
But I put 11 on my laptop to try it and I hate it. So many terrible UI changes, UX noticeably worse. Like they changed stuff just to say they changed stuff.
I considered going Linux for personal use and development, and then using another machine or dual boot for Mac for design software. But i learned about the Nvidia issues after I upgraded my card :/ and swapping to Mac’s walled garden after avoiding it for decades is… a sign of how bad W11 feels to use.
I’ve tried it a couple times and I hate it. The UI sucks, I can’t find shit, and they’ve stripped back control panel even further. Tried to help my mother with virtual disc’s and you can’t simply mount them anymore, instead there was some strange 3rd-party tool I’d never heard of and it didn’t even export files that were too deep in the folder tree. Fucking useless.
All the bloatware sucks, search defaulting to AI and Bing instead of your own computer sucks. Removing administrative controls sucks.
But I’m a visual designer and the market needs powerful industry-ready software like Adobe and Affinity. I can’t design publishing in fucking GIMP. The Linux alternatives aren’t enough. I’m considering using a Linux home machine with Mac for work but the apps I own already are Microsoft so it would be very expensive to switch. So I’ll probably end up using W11 and just complain the whole time.
Modern PCs don’t truly hibernate, they sleep. If the tower loses power its considered a hard reset.
If anything, Windows machines often have ‘fast boot’ enabled which saves certain things to state, so today’s manual shutdown (without power loss) is closer to old school hibernation than today’s ‘sleep’ is.
You can shutdownyour PC each night, but depending on what you’re working on it can disrupt workflow, so I understand why many people prefer to sleep instead.
God I loved that character. Wish he lasted longer, I found his absurdism waaaay funnier than his son’s rape jokes.
