They will notice that their programs no longer work. .exe is not working. But my mom said: there is no longer any wait time at shutdown. She meant waiting for Windows update.

This may lead to people looking for options. That is good for the competition.

Linux may be ready to receive some of the users. Not in all areas. There is still work to be done. Unfortunately the users want to change now so it may be to other OS. Maybe MAC or Chrome OS. Unfortunately there is no easy transition or as camping for moving to Linux, like double click this .exe and migration begins.

I moved to Fedora with KDE but that was only possible due to I am a power user. Average Joe will fail and find suitable replacement applications takes time.

I hope some companies with money takes the opportunity to take care of those lost souls. Maybe Red har have money for TV ads?

I doubt that as the agent need to work first. Which it does not. And it will not solve the gui part. I do not accept running one extra VM as solution. Better is to look for alternative backup solution.

Veeam endpoint backup. The GUI does not exist and the cli version does not work with Fedora 41 and btrfs. I think it is the file system that is not supported. However, I use timeshift but it is not sending it remotely.

I think the question should be why choose eOS over normal Android. Because it is not fully Google made. Competition is good. Yes, I don’t know how to switch Android ROM, so does many other as well.

I love when things are in ram. Can have whole vm disks. I also like creating new VMs in ram disks like /dev/shm it makes less wear on my ssd.

Kde because i want customization and standard is also ok. I tried gnome but did not like that extensions were required for tray icons etc. Gnome is otherwise good.

I3 and hyperland i dont get. Some windows should not be very large no matter how much free screen space you have. Example is calculator or old school chat applications like pidgin. No native standard set of applications. Everything must manually be added and custom, like everything in kde settings(sound output, network settings, screen size etc). Waiting for when applications can recommend its screen size to the window manager.

Teams for Linux and Co pilot because it was not previously supported in Firefox and i have not checked the support nowadays. Firefox for everything else.

I am wondering if it is that good to have single instance for feddiverse. It hurt feddiverse servers to send to yet another location, or is it more like p2p so it scales well?

Dataloss is never fun. File systemet in general need a long time to iron out all the bugs. Hope it is in a better state today. I remember when ext4 was new and crashed in a laptop. Ubuntu was to early to adopt it, or I did not use LTS.

But as always, make sure to have a proper backup on a different physical location.

Why?

I learned over time that things are just thing and can be replaced/rebuilt. However losing other people is hard, especially family. So I would probably try to convince them to flee as well.

I know that computer games like first shooter is really hard. In real life you can’t just reset when you die. You can’t learn from your mistakes. You are dead.

I know there are really brave people out there and fight for the right cause. I don’t understand how they make it thought the suffering. Just being on the field is a trauma if you survive.

I am more looking into BTRF for backup due to I run Linux and not BSD ZFS requires more RAM I only have one disk I want to benefit from snapshots, compression and deduplication.

I have never understood war. Why a country want to attack another country. To me is it like I am free to move there so I have no need to attack them. You disagree, just walk away. They have resources? Stealing is not allowed so you can’t do that. You dont own the whole world. No one will. War only leads to people die. No one should be happy about that. Yes, I cannot fight in a war. I would be a coward and flee to a better place.

So far no problem at all for me. It is also pretty fast to reinstall if needed.
