Yep. It’s all about helping people transition. So much of American food culture is centered around burgers, steak, BBQ, etc. It’s really hard to just drop all of that on a dime, even if you want to. These products help people with that mental itch.

That doesn’t mean everyone living on stolen land gets a pass just because they weren’t the ones to steal it. They have an obligation to make it right.

We can’t feasibly stop automation, nor should we. We SHOULD be taking the profits back from billionaires that they’ve stolen since time immemorial. Automation means less work overall. But we need to ensure the workers actually benefit from that.

Neither the USSR nor the CCP ever tried to be communist. They used that banner to gather supporters and then seized all control of the government in an authoritarian takeover. Communism doesn’t have “dear leaders” or usually even parties. Places like the USSR used their control over capital and wages and property ownership to control their populace entirely. We’ve never really seen an actual communist country because all the major efforts were sabotaged by people who wanted to be dictators.

TBF, I have a 3-tier retirement plan (pension, 401k, SS) and I’m still worried for solvency in my senior years. I expect 2/3 of those to be unfunded and raided in the next 30 years.
