There are some 30 species of mosquitos that can transmit Malaria. There are about 3470 species of mosquitoes that don’t.
So, if you get rid of those 30, some of the other will probably be a decent food source.

Killing Anopheles is easy and smart, because no more malaria, and there are many other options to fill the niche.
Killing Anopheles while not also wiping out all those other insects is really really really hard
Medieval peasants had SOOO many holidays.
Holidays meant “you don’t have to work for the lord who owns your land”, but since they were subsistence farmers in the middle ages, that meant they still had to tend the animals and do the work on their own plots. They were absolutely still working during their “holidays”.
I’ve got this rough theory that we can get decently historic pieces from around 50 AD (but only in central italy, nowhere else), around 1200, 1800 and then from 1900 to now. Everything else is even more of crapshoot.
Anything between Commodus and Charlemange is especially cursed
I do historical reenactment, so I have a hobby that involves researching the age of a certain embroidery stitch, for example.
I’ve learned to just switch off that part of my brain for games and movies, or I’d cry a lot more. I just project them to an alternate reality where they totally had nylon in 1200.
Signed, and why the hell isn’t this already a law?
Nothing a little ducktape won’t fix
And downvoted like all AI slop should be
The big “problem” for the farmers is that consumers don’t actually give a shit about the DOP system.
There’s a saying: “it’s not your fault, but you are the only person who can solve it”.
Only you can reduce your calories, only you can stop smoking and only you can quit alcohol. That’s shitty that you have to, and in an ideal world it wouldn’t be like this, but it is.
massive choices on where the story goes based on your responses,
Really? What massive choices do you make? Hunter or emissary? That just changes the last 20 minutes of the game. Before then, you have no major impact on the plot.
the capabilities to befriend or antagonize any enemy whether a human, alien, or these strange pirates
But you don’t. You can’t befriend the pirates, there arent really any strange aliens, and you can’t antagonize most friends.
You deal with politics, survival,
Do you? There’s some minor “deal with this for me” stuff from the factions, but that’s hardly politics.
And survival isn’t an issue in the game at all, even though you can see the scrapped leftovers from it.
attempting to save the galaxy while trying to discover the hidden story.
The “hidden story” is spelled out and telegraphed in the main questline. It’s not a souls like where you piece it together, they literally tell you to your face
I maintain that if they didn’t bother with the space thing, or abstracted it more to a “blip on a screen” type of topdown play like in mass effect, it would be a better game. They could have spent that time on the shooter gameplay loop not being shit.
Brains ARE grey, they just hold a LOT of blood, making them look pinkish. But the neurons are grey.
The brain also has white matter (the axons) which is white due to a fatty layer.
And when it isn’t their spawning season, you’re not very likely to see them in the wild, so it kinda makes sense that people associated the colour with the fish.
I use a really good, free alternative to photoshop and indesign.
They’re called pirated photoshop and pirated indesign.
I also love to legally torrent my favourite open source software legally.
I’m no elephantologist, but I’m pretty sure Indian elephants definitely get to experience the rainy season.
And the rainy season in India gets VERY rainy indeed. As in “don’t bother to flush, the rain will get it” rainy.
Elect someone who isn’t even running, a very likely outcome
I know lemmings don’t actually run off of cliffs en masse, but this still feels less than flattering.
