Honestly services like Blue Apron help with this. It’s more expensive than buying your own groceries, but still cheaper than eating out. It also helps you learn meal planning to eventually be able to buy the right amount of food on your own.
(It is easier to do if you have more people to feed though, like ideally at least one friend/partner/roommate to share the subscription with you. You can do a 2-3x a week meals for 2 subscription for one person, but it’s a bit much.)
Not it’s drops from the sink while washing their hands because OP was using their phone on the toilet
While selling data in general is shitty, I want to push back on the fear mongering a little bit.
This only applies to new accounts, can be opt-out of, and doesn’t apply to self-hosted content.
+1 for UBlacklist. Here’s the link if anyone’s interested: https://github.com/iorate/ublacklist
FOSS and supports Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
During the purge I’d hide in my bunker while downloading as much copyrighted material as possible onto a harddrive.
I used to have one that would broadcast a short-range radio station that you would tune the car radio to. You’d have to make sure its frequency was far from an actual radio station or you’d get crosstalk. On long road trips you’d have to keep adjusting it.
So if you are doing nothing wrong you have nothing to hide?
I don’t know if I want my text to be that bright TBH.
I have a 1000 nits monitor and IMO it looks best with things like stars in a night sky or lights in a dark cave.
When it gets too much of the screen bright at once it hurts my eyes. Sometimes that happens when playing Destiny 2, which generally has a pretty good HDR implementation, but when too many explosions happen at once it gets overwhelming.
1 kills you because you need some fat to live
The mom figured out he was missing almost immediately, but then it was hard to get back because the airport was overloaded due to the holiday rush. That part would still apply today and cell phones don’t change it.
Apple’s aren’t square so it’s not so easy to figure out where to cut that will give you a 1/3 - 2/3 split.
AIUI there was an aspect in the divisibility of the numbers being convenient.
12 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 6. 60 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30.
10 is divisible by 2 and 5. 100 is divisible by 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, and 50.
If you want to minimize dealing with fractions, 12 and 60 are far more convenient than 10 and 100.
I tried jellyfin but it isn’t even close to as a good as plex
electricians, plumbers
Doesn’t require a college degree. May require trade school or an apprenticeship.
math teachers
Requires multiple degrees but they are extremely underpaid and while I do think the US could use more and better teachers, the funding of the public school system does not reflect that.
chemists
Probably ok prospects right now but the job market in general kinda sucks right now so you still might have trouble.
etc etc etc.
Computer science was an extremely desirable degree from an employment perspective up until a couple years ago, but now the computer science bubble is popping. But also in general the job market is awful right now. A lot of people I know with “practical” degrees like computer science, business, physics, and engineering are struggling to get jobs in the fields they majored in. And that’s not even getting into how awful the US system for becoming a doctor is…
In response to your spoiler:
I specifically didn’t like that scene because it’s a massive departure from the lore of all the other films. If they could just do that, why haven’t both sides been doing that all the time? Is it supposed to be that this group is the first group to try this, with the tech that has been around for at least a few centuries? If they had all died in the process I’d be more ok with that, although that also seems like a departure from how hyperspace works in the other films.
I’ve been working on my own macOS tiling window manager inspired by Gtile for gnome. I’ll probably put it on github at some point.
