I mean, I’m not saying things can’t get better… but they’ll never be like Idiocracy. The reason people seem to be getting stupider isn’t because of eugenics, it’s because of the concerted efforts of those in power to stigmatize intelligence. They’re not just going to up and disappear… they’re going to exploit the under-educated.

After they wrested the Defenders series from Netflix, I doubt Disney would throw them a bone that big.

I doubt very much adblockers are to blame for that. They’re a convenient excuse for those trying to squeeze as much money as possible from their users… but they would have gone that route no matter what. It’s just the nature of the economic system we live in.
