  • Obviously you just mandate your game and console be always online and at that point you may as well just live stream the game to their house, don’t need to download if you never actually own it right?? Make them pay per the minute of game time and only unlock the next level after they’ve played long enough! Hell! Why even sell a game?? Just have people pay you for the right to advertise that they paid for it and charge them a daily subscription to keep the rights! Nobody owns anything but you! Art and entertainment is merely a vessel to siphon money from the masses! Purchase their souls for a hit of dopamine! Rent them their own eyes!

  • I’ll just add to this, 9mm, or any handgun really, is still very loud. The reason it doesn’t seem as loud is because when most people are shooting there are two main things happening.

    1. They’re behind the barrel, normally this doesn’t matter much, but the sound is at least a little directional, so being in front of it is going to make it sound much louder because you’re hearing the initial explosion, not an echo.
    2. Most people aren’t shooting it in their house, they’re at a gun range. The space in front of you at the range allows for the sound to travel and the pressure to spread through the room, slightly reducing the impact of the sound. Shoot one in a tiny room and it’s going to be much worse for you.

Again it’s still really loud, but the context of where the sound is being made does make a difference. Obviously larger rounds will be louder, but that doesn’t mean rounds like 9mm are safe for your ears at all.

  • I always thought there was supposed to be some kind of PPE or cleanup team that has to do that. Thankfully never had it at any of my old retail jobs but one of my friends said at their grocery store they basically just had a high powered hose they blasted everything down with then went after with sanitizer

  • Not only that, but the superhero bit is getting played out. Comics can have some real depth (and some real dumb stuff) but I feel like they haven’t done much besides the usual “not hero, gets powers, struggles with bad guy, understands powers, beats bad guy, happy ending, sequel teaser”.

They need to mix it up. Gimme a superhero crime drama, a romance novel, a true comedy not just quips, etc. They have a whole universe and years of content to draw from and they keep telling the same story over and over.

  • Technically they don’t gain money no, but they get:

    1. To move or dispose of product, making sales look better
    2. Free marketing, both in people having the drinks and to say “look we did a charity”
    3. To pay their taxes with effectively free money, because they take the product that they made for pennies, and count it as a “donation” at full price. Meaning that all the “profit” they would have made on markup goes straight to paying the taxes instead of making the money and paying taxes on the money they already made.

It’s why a company donating their product is always better for them than a regular person donating cash. They are effectively still making money it’s just this time they are making money specifically to pay off their taxes.

  • Also sounds like you had a crappy realtor. If you’re using a realtor, get them to work for you, that’s what they’re for. Give them the specs of the house you’re looking for, sure, but they should be calling you with listings, vetting the homes before they show them to you, handling negotiation relays and inspection setups, etc.

Just general advice, yes you pay them, but if they aren’t working for you, pay someone else.
