RDP has some nice defaults that make things easy. VNC can operate pretty much the same, but it takes a bit more configuration.
The sad thing about being a Windows user is they’ve got you between a rock and a hard place. You either upgrade or lose support, and in a lot of cases you can’t upgrade without buying a new system.
I know a lot of people resist learning Linux, but it really is the only way out of the cycle. You can start small at first, dip your toes in. Before long it will feel more natural and familiar than the next release from Redmond. On that day you will be free.
If you have a hard drive reader and spare thumb drive it’s not too hard. Just put clonezilla on the thumb drive, boot it, put the new drive in the reader, and clone your old drive onto the new one.
Back in the day I usually just put a fresh install on the SSD and downloaded their personal files from the network copy. I found that upgrading from 7 to 10 had a uncomfortably high failure rate, so it was easier to just put a fresh install of 10 on and go from there.
I guess it depends on what your standards are for ‘fine’, or maybe it’s a 10k rpm drive. Win 10 on a standard HDD is dog shit, I personally had to upgrade several offices from HDD to SSD when Windows 10 came out.
Personally I’m antiwar, but to each their own. The way I see it, a civil war becomes more likely through the tolerance of fascism, but I suppose if you have a just-war mindset it could make more sense to let it boil over to the point that generals march in with a list of rules to make the carnage appear civilized.
Ah, so you aren’t opposed to killing fascists, you just want it to be done on the orders of a military.
For over a decade every one of my wallpapers was an Aenami piece. They’re just so dang cool.
Most games work day one these days with proton. How is modding more difficult on Linux? I feel like it’s easier, but maybe I’m just used to it.

Hmm. I see the argument, but it seems to be more like an issue with pricing than a flaw with HSR. Once high speed track is in service it should be able to run plenty of trains all around the clock, I can see how it could make low speed rail seem redundant.
I’d think it would make more sense to keep the low speed tracks and use them for freight, and also make high speed rail cheaper to ride.
Is it really hurting the low speed networks? I would imagine there are many stations that high speed rail doesn’t go to. Let goods travel long distance low speed, let people go fast.
Spending on missile defense is one of the only parts of the military budget I’m alright with. Heck, why not expand it, intercept every missile targeting civilians regardless of who fired it.
Isn’t that the Qatar money the above comment was talking about?
It really depends on what it was used for. I almost always turn bacon grease into gravy or mayo, for oil/butter from cooking meat dishes I make pan sauces, but for frying oil I recycle.
Why waste the oil? Turn it into gravy, or mayonnaise, or store it to sell to a recycling center that will turn it into biofuel.
Whiteness, at least from a racist perspective, isn’t really about skin color, it’s more like a club for ‘approved’ ethnicities. There’s many Italians with darker skin than Mexicans, but Italians are considered ‘white’ and Mexicans are not. Same for large parts of the Middle East and Asia.
Romani are white skinned Europeans, but they’re not ‘racist approved’, so they make up rumors they’re actually from Egypt and omit them from the White Club.
The determination for what counts as white is highly inconsistent. Before the 1700s Germans were not considered white. Before the 1800s Irish were not considered white. For a time in the 1900s Finnish people were considered Asian (while many Finns were striking for better working conditions, what an odd coincidence). Italians weren’t considered white until about a hundred years ago. It goes on and on.
It’s gotten to the point where incel just means “a guy who believes men and women should be equal”.
No, that’s not even remotely true, and it’s not what your previous comment was saying either.
Incels are essentially misogynists with a sexual fixation. Like classical misogynists tend to be more occupied with women having jobs or holding positions of power, while incels tend to be more upset about women’s sexual habits, but both are preoccupied with hating on women they deem to be misbehaving.
I think the part of your previous comment that gave the most ‘incel vibes’ was the bit about women begging for attention after ‘hitting the wall’ in their 20s. Maybe you intended it as a comment on women who regretted not taking relationships more seriously in their 30s, but it came off as a sort of fantasy where the women who transgressed your model of how ladies should act get their just desserts.
I’m sorry but you can’t call it ‘involuntary’ if you chose to install Arch. Arch comes with a reading list. Some Linux distributions are not made for people who don’t want to know a ton about how they work. It’s like if you want to drive a car without knowing how an engine works you shouldn’t start with a kit car.
Use Linux Mint if you just want it to work.
