That probably has a lot to do with it. Doubling the workforce let’s employers be way pickier.

What I read is his friends identified him as economically leftist, but took issue with identity politics
Yeah, the one good part of it
I think they interviewed people in his circles, and I think a friend flippantly noticed it was kinda ironic that they played Among Us with someone who went on to actually assassinate someone, and now the media is twisting that into the standard “video games cause violence” bugbear.
Still, different angle of attack.
In space, you are the bracing surface.
False. Leg position is different, one allows additional bracing. NASA virgins caught red handed.
Personally, I’ve always subconsciously associated the last name in a list of names as the one who does the real work. Like if Lewis was so great, why did he need to bring Clark on board? Again, subconsciously, I associate the first name with vanity, the face of the group taking credit for a joint effort. I know that it’s usually just a case of what has a better rhythm, but I feel the way I feel.
This doesn’t extend to longer lists, anyone in the middle feels like a handout, “Oh yeah, they were also involved I guess”. Again, totally based on feels, and I’m probably weird for this.
So that’s what that phrase means
It has nothing to do with blame and everything to do with survival. Correctly blaming the wild animal isn’t much comfort when the damage is done.
I use messenger to get in touch with people I have no other contact info for.
I use marketplace because Craigslist is a ghost town.
The things other platforms don’t do better is “have a near ubiquitous user base”.
I haven’t used Facebook as social media for at least a decade
Absolutely. I’m not terribly privileged, but while the difficulties of life are non-trivial, overall I’ve experienced enough joy to justify the expense.
Still, there’s the friction of checks and balances. It’s certainly not perfect, far from it, but the alternative is still worse.
The state is nothing but a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence.
Which, ideally, is pretty much how it has to work. The state is, ideally, composed of elected representatives and their appointees. The alternative to violence monopolized by elected representatives is violence distributed to private interests. State monopoly of legitimate violence is not great and I agree with the problems inherent to that, but realistically the alternative seems worse. I’m racking my brain for another system, but I can’t think of anything that doesn’t devolve to oligarch-led private armies oppressing people.
I did try to be specific: on that day.
Goodness, when was that?
I’m in this picture and I’m loving it
To the people of New York:
We have a responsibility as citizens to respect our civic duty to justice. You may be selected for a jury to try a suspect for this murder. It may be the one responsible, it may be a scapegoat. In either case, after the judicial proceedings, you will be asked to assent to a verdict. On that day, you will be required to ensure justice is served. On that day, remember just two words: jury nullification.
Don’t do that, it’s not effective feedback. Ask for a manager, explain to them that you’re dropping your shit where you stand and going to the grocery store down the street, and why. Should be a brief conversation, and if multiple people do that then it’s more likely to trickle up to corporate.
Ben Franklin could almost be considered something like a shadow leader, with very little direct power but a significant amount of political influence. I haven’t played newer Civ, if a Ben Franklin play purely buffs soft power, trade/research agreements, etc, I could see this working. He was still an actual statesman though, so even still he’s on paper a better choice. But he’s not a great choice if the build isn’t based on soft political influence. But Tubman just wasn’t that kind of leader, what she did was amazing, but it wasn’t really leadership of a civilization.
