Crushes are fun, but we romanticize the person into someone they’re not.
This. So much this. I fell in this trap a few times and even though I overcame the fear of asking out and the other side accepted and we dated a few times, eventually my disappointment with the difference between what I imagined the person would be vs how the person actually is would kick in and I would start blaming the other person and/or start criticizing the other person.
I now realize that I was trying to force the other person into my personal view of “how that person should be” and that was very unfair to them but I didn’t realize what I was doing while doing it.

He would only escape if he was a presidential candidate or a multi billionaire.
Since he is neither and he works on US soil, then the law came after him. You would cave in, if in similar circumstances.

In the meanwhile I discovered PhotoGIMP, which helps with getting basic stuff done through GIMP and addresses some points around image and layer selection and manipulation that used to be so confusing with GIMP.

Need to remember that Microsoft was forced by regulators overseas to allow ring 0 third party software as part of antitrust proceedings. But the notion that antivirus software companies must be allowed to exist (instead of making the kernel infection proof) is also ridiculous
Ugh I can’t wrap my mind around how weird and unintuitive GIMP feels to use
It’s America - your data and privacy do not matter right now and the septuagenarian congress will only look at regulating this 150 years from now

Sobre people see guilds as a form of worker union providing job protection but they are also oligopolies for business owners, resulting in higher price for goods and less employment opportunities overall due to the “you got to be a member so you can do business” aspect of it
