That’s gonna be our approach, too with our kiddo.

It’s a hard one to fight your own overly-conservative programming in order to teach a healthier outlook to your kids. Hard to know if you’re going too far one way or the other. So much of parenting you just don’t know if you’re doing it right until you’re done.

Fist-bump from one internet parent to another, you’re doing a great job ✌️

  • Well, if you really wanna get into it, I blame the Romans. It was their colonialism and influence that made the region of the Franks what it was culturally. Then their collapse created a power vacuum allowing this remnant territory to rise and fill it, wanting to be its own new Rome (like almost every other empire that arose after that). And on and on until today. Colonialism and imperialism is a cancer that has been growing and growing through the ages to get us to where we are today

  • Haha, I agree with you on the last point, but their passion for their teams (let’s not forget OSU, though many OU fans wish we could) is something else. My SO is a huge OU fan, and though I don’t quite ‘get’ the love for football, it’s cool to learn about all their traditions. The Sooner Schooner being my favorite

That’s just what I was thinking. Two OU fans can meet each other anywhere in the world and one can say “Texas,” and the other will say “Sucks,” without missing a single beat. The whole thing is a call and response between each half of the stadium:

    A- “Boomer”

    B- “Sooner”

    A- “Texas”

    B- “Sucks”

Pretty coordinated for a bunch of blind-drunk undergrads. That’s just the first thing that came to mind, I’m sure many other teams have more elaborate chants

  • Weird to say that when the artist has made the art the key point in the drama. The ‘art’ kind of is the drama. Especially the debate on if roughly drawn comics that don’t have punch lines even are art. The way I feel about them is as if they’re AI slop, but done by a person. Most of them don’t even make sense, but get so much attention.
