Hey, So I have been looking for a motherboard that has multiple PCIE gen3 x16 slots. i wanted to use a amd ryzen 9000 CPU but at least for asrock server boards they only have a single PCIE gen5 x16 slot. do you know if their is a single HBA that i can use to connect everything to instead of using multiple?

I use it as a better spell check then word.

Thank you! This helps a load. If i understand correctly when you use the oculink it becomes nvme only. and when using the other connector like miniSAS it will work with SATA/SAS instead?

Also I am not entirely sure how the 2 drives in the back are connected I think straight to one of the HBAs?

My issue with simplex is the centralization. Yes you can self host the servers and point the app to that. But honestly almost no one will change defaults led alone setup a whole server for it.

Opensuse Tunbleweed has some great btrfs defaults. And snapper makes rollbacks a breeze.

Personally using rocky Linux. Which is essentially free rhel. It moves slower then fedora.

Grapheneos with a dedicated profile with those China apps. Dont allow the profile to run in the background. Then just use tor with snowflake or one of the many methods of tor to bypass the firewall of China.

Only the pixels phones allow for relocking the bootloader with a custom ROM. Might be possible on a few other devices when jumping true a load of hoops and potentially bricking the device.

Open the tor browser and try if that works. If it does you do have internet. Some applications dont like when they are used over tor.

I absolute despise ads but they are a necessary evil, it can be implemented well if it is not done intrusive and doesn’t take up more space then the content it self. Also if it are mostly scam ads and such they might as well not have ads at all.

A VPN is what you want, not VLANS that is used to segment parts of the local network. not to get your friends in too your local network.

A simple and easy to use solution is wireguard easy.
