Yeah I remember once when my friends Synology started acting harmful when he run jellyfin on it. it started off gasing mustard gas. It poisoned the well and made his son addicted to zyns. When apple pay became a thing (and gov wallet app soon after) my distilled wallet had three bank cards and 1 ID.

My phone wallet now has 10 bank cards, gov ID, drivers license and 4 loyalty cards and 1 transit related info card.

Sorry but having to carry a wallet is a big trade-off for me. I would give up a lot of data for the convenience I have been enjoying for years of not carrying a single card.

I am so considering starting to experiment with an Linux phone. But it will be a long time until it can do contactless payments, bank apps, safe biometrics and heavy apps. Now that I think about it,it shouldn’t be impossible.

Enshittification is inevitable for all free services (services as in with a server component). Thankfully the functions of tailscale are open source so until enshittification actually happens I will be happy with using a a useful but VC funded project. When I am not willing to make the trade off anymore I will use headscale or some other drop in replacement.

It’s a language issue. We say 10 because we don’t have a single digit symbol to represent 10. If a alien with 20 fingers came we wouldn’t recognized their symbols for anything bigger than 9. Base 4 creatures don’t use 4 because after 3 comes 10 for them.

Doesn’t matter how many digits you use. The first number after the last possible single digit is 10. If the first digit tier is 0 and the second is 1 it means it’s the number after you have used all the possible digits to express a number with a single digit number. Guess it’s harder to explain.
