”Hello fellow kids” vibes
”Hello fellow kids” vibes
Fun fact: New Super Mario Bros turns 19 this year.
Yes, that means we’re close to the turning point where New Super Mario Bros gets older than what Super Mario Bros was when it was released.
No need to be sorry. It pisses me off as well.
It’s just extra customization options in the character creation screen. If you don’t want to use it, don’t use it. For some, these extra options are great additions. Why go great lengths to deny their enjoyment?
As long they don’t add pronouns. God forbid grammar in my games.
Then there’s the Mega Drive game Alien Soldier that comes with two difficulties: ”Super Easy” and ”Super Hard”. The ”Super Easy” difficulty is actually quite difficult.
I don’t use it much myself, but I’m often surprised how many others use ChatGPT in their job. I don’t believe it’s an extreme minority.
It’s an annoying subset of people in tech.
They’re usually quick on the latest fads and buzzwords. They pose themselves as technical innovators, when they’re not really innovating anything. They’re just chasing trends and hope they can make some quick money while the hype is still strong. Technical skill is optional.
You often find these in LinkedIn.
For better or worse, AI is here to stay. Unlike NFTs, it’s actually used by ordinary people - and there’s no sign of it stopping anytime soon.
I think the big problem is when companies apply for patents but never utilize them. In my ideal world, patents should quickly expire and opened to the public if they aren’t being used. Like, what’s the point of protecting your idea if you have no intention to use it anytime soon?
That could deal with the patent troll problem as well.
I agree.
Here’s what this agreement taught me about b2b sales:
What do you mean? The sky is obviously red and yellow.
ML stands for Marxist Leninism, so that’s a clue
That one was more complex. Lehman brothers didn’t publicly tell everybody that they were going to do a bad thing, then proceed to do the bad thing despite everyone telling them it’s a very bad idea, and then everything turns into shit just like everyone had predicted.
The difference now is that this one was completely preventable. Not that it makes it any better.
Original PlayStation for not shipping with dual analog sticks from the start. Almost all games had to be to be playable with non-analog controllers as well. As a result, dual shock support was mostly an afterthought. Especially FPS games were awful to play.
Imagine the games that could’ve been possible if all games were designed with two analog sticks in mind. We would certainly have fewer games with tank controls.
I think this is also the main reason why it didn’t take until PlayStation 2 for developers to realize that the second analog stick is awesome for camera movement (instead of awkwardly mapping camera motion to the shoulder buttons).
Left joycon for movement. Right joycon for mouse.
We got a new release year trailer
It got a bit of the old Rareware vibes with the eyed rocks. Looks like a fun game!
Funny how Fortnite is among the incompatible games, and is the only game with a fix: ”A Switch 2 version is planned”
Great that they’re open about which games are incompatible, and that they seem to have made an effort to try all games on Switch.
I’m a huge fan of Doom Eternal. It really proved what movement shooters are capable of.
Haven’t played Dark Ages yet, and I’m not super eager to play it.
I expected Dark Ages to be a middle ground of 2016 and Eternal, but it seems like they’re straying away from movement shooters with the ”stand and fight” tagline. That’s disappointing, because I feel like there’s so much more to explore with movement shooters. Just look at Ultrakill for example.
I will wait it out a bit. It still seems like a fun game. Next on my play list is Expedition 33.
