  • It’s a mistake to imagine most regulation is just brainless nonsense. It would be like imagining the entire legal industry is composed of burglars suing home owners because they slipped in the kitchen whilst robbing the house and concluding we could easily do away with it.

Looser regulations is incredibly unlikely to effect only or even mostly the stupid or even only or even mostly the poor. Firstly the primary food supply for rich and poor right up to the 1% generally comes from the same ultimate sources the rich just A) mix some more expensive stuff in B) have people who fetch and prepare the food for them.

Also people are incredibly laughably bad at enacting food safety by voting with their feet even when a particular restaurant is making people sick. Oftentimes the actual sickness may take days to manifest and may not be connected obviously with the ultimate source. Now that is for things that at least directly sicken people. Things that are merely unhealthy may have an ultimate effect that is only visible at the population level where you see significantly more people get cancer in the next 10 to 20 years.

  • It’s a much higher risk than average because games are often abandoned within one year of release and still run as long as 10-15 years later and connects to the internet and other randos on the internet. See the Call of Duty games that allow you to take over the computer of anyone who connects to your online match. It greatly degrades the security of its users.

Technically lots of things people call “malware” don’t actually do any of those things. For instance they may hijack your default search engine, pop up ads, or otherwise monetize your computer at your expense. The category that was invented by ass coverers is “possibly unwanted program” but outside of those who worry about being sued by scumbags people colloquially refer to both what you call malware AND PUPs as "malware the root of which is “bad” after all. Language being descriptive not prescriptive I think this broader definition of malware is fine.

  • whites and blacks have equal rights and the same opportunities available

    untrue

skin color alone should not be the basis for aid. If some one needs help, help them.

There is actually a lot more extra help granted to white people especially the well off than will ever go to black people. There is a higher proportion of white people in Harvard now who wouldn’t have made it purely on merit than any other race. In a less shitty environment maybe being colorblind would actually make sense. In actuality it decreases fairness.

Clearly the current systems are not helping, despite all the aid given to them.

The actual aid that is available to families is largely a joke

why work harder for less, when I can live off government aid

You actually largely can’t you would end up living with the hobos on the cardboard if you without any disability decided not to bust your fucking ass.

Asian/Ellis Island era European immigrants didn’t have the same aid, and 80 years later Asians are among the most successful groups, or at least average.

80 years ago isn’t today. 80 years ago jobs that paid 50k didn’t require 100K in debt while houses cost $400k.

You are basically a KKK member without a hood.

The rate of burglary is 271 per 100k per year in the US but nobody doubts it exists. If the rate of weasels ripping off deposits was 1 in 20 which is incredibly high and you sampled 10 instances the chance of getting zero is 0.95^10. That is to say the chance that someone would rent 10 times in such a market and not have someone try to rip you off is ~60%. Your sample size isn’t meaningful even if it were random.

Always makes me wonder what other people do to their houses to fuck them up so bad.

You figured people must all be doing damage to lose their deposit. Lots of people don’t understand what their rights are or what to do to protect them because the poor are habituated to the reality that they don’t have much in the way of rights.

Here let me help you. Landlords vary wildly in quality and decline quickly as you go down in price furthermore being ignorant of your rights or lacking in options due to money are both easy routes to getting fucked. Not understanding that people pretty regularly get fucked out of their deposits because you haven’t is like wondering why other people get raped when you have avoided it.

  • Ads are…already a thing. Shit like putting candy crush which allows you to spend real money to pay to win. Search suggestions in the start menu. The app store is an attempt at an Apple style money grab except the money grab only exists on the apple side because its the only way to get apps on the machine and MS never got much out its store in comparison.

Ads and subscriptions would already have happened if they had succeeded in using secure boot to lock machines out of alternative OS

Obsoleting a lot of relatively recent fast hardware means people are either faced with a fuck off or complicated work arounds. Then there is forcing people to log in with their MS email account which they may not have or want or again forcing people into complicated work arounds. The implicit privacy issues of recall if it was rolled out as planned.

Ads in the windows UI both exiting and planned. The fact that they have discussed the idea of making Windows a monthly/annual fee.

Then the carry overs from 10 The fact that the start menu search is less useful than any linux DE or windows XP Re-enabling crap that people disabled on purpose Certain kinds of links opening in Edge even if people use chrome

  • My family is on Medicaid NOW. My wife stopped being medically able to work years ago but magically doesn’t qualify as disabled enough to get any help of any kind. We lost our house because of that and legal fees fighting for my mother in law whose family members were abusing her financially and physically and its just been kind of downhill from their financially.
