  • You ever heard of Wine? The majority of work to make Windows apps work on Linux is not with ReactOS. Last time I tried ReactOS it was more like a nostalgic OS for people to remember the good ole days of minesweeper. It wasn’t a serious project to actually become compatible with modern Windows. Even if it was, I wouldn’t trust the authors to do so. Wine however has made serious progress and there are multiple Windows apps that now run on Linux as a result. The Linux community should not embrace Windows. Microsoft needs to embrace the Linux community & make their source code open enough and documentation good enough to run Windows software on Linux natively. Otherwise you’re doing free work for a company that will be acting hostile towards you, and it just isn’t worth it. You’d be better off at that point at convincing software makers to make their apps compatible with Linux or using a hypervisor.

  • Since Satya Nadella became CEO, Microsoft has advertised itself as a pro-opensource company despite never open sourcing its primary consumer-facing products like Windows & Edge. This initially attracted a lot of open source developers that Microsoft gladly hired, to turn around and turn their OS into a spyware organization.

Microsoft learned that if they collected a bunch of data and shared it with the intelligence agencies, while making their OS a telemetry warehouse that tracks nearly everything you do, then they’d be able to attract and onboard the entire US government while making it nearly impossible for them to switch away in the future. At this point forensic companies aren’t shy that Windows is the worst choice for privacy.

  • Embrace, extend, and extinguish. They literally documented it as being their strategy. Now the justice department is chasing Google who despite being bad, at least provides enough source code where people have created privacy-focused derivatives of Android. I’d much rather see them go after Microsoft first but the government relies on Microsoft, and Microsoft relies on our tax dollars going to the government so they can get them.

The arsonist in this scenario would be the corporate Democrat consultants and Kamala herself. You run the same campaign in 4 more years and you’ll get another Republican. It is time for self-reflection and people to demand change in the Democratic party. Failing to do that is exactly why Trump got re-elected.

  • This was totally the fault of Democrats. They are the reason they lost. Blaming anyone else or acting like it was just a coincidence is nothing more than denying reality. Israel and the Cheney parade definitely played a role. The negative ads targeting progressives like Jill Stein played a role. Kamala hiding from progressive networks that would ask real questions played a role. The Democratic party has become nothing more than a dysfunctional corporate bureaucracy that thinks they can convince everyone that shit is gold.

Agreed 100%. It’s the refusal to self-reflect and attacks on anyone who dare to question that turns people away. Not only is Bill Clinton a terrible campaign messenger, but he was chastising Arab-americans in Michigan for being against genocide. Just like Obama was blaming black men.
