  • Lol well I took exception to slop but this is all human shit :p while ai allowed me to generate it in like 3 minutes the idea was mine (and apparently a few other people’s as well, I saw some others on the New feed), and I don’t need ai to help me think of shitpost ideas - just to bring them to life in full technicolour glory, and with less effort than mouse-drawing in MSPaint.

Also, I do think it adds a certain dimension of shittiness to do it so carelessly, but that might be too abstract for a shitpost

  • Let me be clear: The ones that are aware, the ones that are literally sitting across the table (not simply a member of a mind bogglingly large amorphous group of vague political beliefs), the ones that are actually racist

See, we’re talking about the same people, you’re just more willing to believe the majority are innocent of knowing exactly what they voted for. I don’t, and I do ascribe heavily to that Teddy Roosevelt principle of personal responsibility. The buck stops with me. This lot claim to, and don’t.

If it helps, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I believe I’ve narrowed down the problem with my family in particular. “I don’t have to prove shit”, they each said to me, and that’s really why I’ve given up on them. There’s no talking to that.

  • I use a Kinesis Advantage 2. Also very expensive, but a bit older and a monoblock design instead of two halves. Despite being only a single piece, this thing alone reversed the developing RSI in my wrists thanks to the superior ergonomics.

The vertical mouse I resisted a lot longer but eventually I got tennis elbow so I caved. But where I love my Kinesis 2, I hate the vertimouse. It’s comfortable, but imprecise, and too tall so I always accidentally knock it over switching between keyboard and mouse. Still, my elbow is healing, so I cannot and will not go back to a traditional mouse. I’ve been seriously considering a trackball though…

For those reasons, I would class these devices as medical requirement rather than luxury. If you have pain from computer work with non-ergonomic hardware, you deserve to spend the money on these things. You’re taking care of yourself.

  • I’m not misusing the word. They saw Nazi flags flying and at best they thought

Well, I might not agree with what they’re saying, but they have a right to say it

Except that what a Nazi flag says is incompatible with what this country should be, with what these people who think themselves “patriots” profess to believe. You don’t think guilty by association is fair? Explain to me why not, please. In what way is “Yep, being on the same side as Nazis is fine” not just being a fucking Nazi? I will be positively floored if you can come up with a single reasonable scenario to convince me there’s any difference.

And don’t think this is in bad faith, either. If you can convince me you might just give me a fighting chance to forgive my family who went off the deep end. It is actually quite important to me, I’ve just given up there’s any hope of getting through to them after so long. Especially now he won.

  • When you tear down next, look for missing board components or any that lean at an angle they’re not supposed to. Canned air has been known to shear poorly-attached caps or whathaveyou clean off the board. Or maybe one of the wires in the 12v cable is broken and it’s delivering power just to most pins… The paperclip test just tells you if the PSU is dead dead, are you able to test with a multimeter instead?

Buzzing while the power supply is off makes me wonder if there’s literal bugs in it, if it’s buzzing while it’s unplugged. I suppose the buzzing could also be remaining power discharging, if it happens just after it’s been unplugged.
