you’re high on mushrooms in the Viking age, the gods are everywhere

A little study of philosophy helps us ask and consider better questions, a little study of google helps us consider a world without CEOs and the constant encroachment of enshittification for shareholder profits.
Exactly right, it is the greediest model possible people will accept, ads+sub like cable TV and many popular streaming services became are the same garbage following the same enshittification path because art doesn’t exist in most TV and movies anymore, it’s just a commodity/product in a store.
Campaign finance reform under 7 would allow further reforms to follow, without those regulatory capture and bribery are legal and prevent any other electoral reforms benefiting the working class.
General strike in the US seems like less of an impossibility year by year
Just restating some of the greatest hits:
Universal healthcare
Universal education through university level or trade school
At least a month pto annually
Parental leave for births
Guaranteed sick leave
32hr new full time threshold before overtime
Only public, equal funds for elections, no PACs/dark money/donations, no lobbyist bribes
Any elected official over a certain level cannot engage in trading of individual stocks or own businesses, dump it all in an index fund or hand off management to someone else they cannot contact without a mediator and recording, immediate expulsion & no longer able to hold office when found in violation
No billionaires/oligarchs, anyone with earnings and assets over a billion should be taxed at 100% and assets redistributed
Edit: May 1st 2028 looks like a good target thanks to the UAW https://www.thenation.com/article/activism/general-strike-2028-unions-labor-movement/

It’s very different now, crime went way down when some organized crime stopped feuding and follows similar trends across all major US cities until an uptick again around the start of COVID
Alt: graph from clickondetroit.con that shows the average downward trend in Detroit homicide from the 90s to 2016
Trustfunders and nepo babies who make no effort to try understand the working class and instead act like they are special or better than other people with different priorities and struggles due to circumstance.
Mistaking kindness for weakness.
Fashion policing, especially from religious clergy or judges.
I had a field trip to some old churches in Detroit in the late 90s. On a weekday we saw two cars on fire like full blazing infernos at different places with one flipped upside down.
I enjoyed those too for what they are but the second one feels sooo looooong
I try not to sub to streaming services with an ad+sub tier like cable TV which narrows options over the past few years but also helps me avoid some of that stuff.
Criterion collection/channel is usually good for Indies and some lesser known quality films.
And physical media but that’s mostly just for stuff I already know I like and would watch multiple times or for the commentary track because of how expensive that can get.
Theaters I’ll go to for epic movies in IMAX or sometimes new horror movies or the occasional rifftrax thing they do where they broadcast live from a theater to a bunch of other theaters.
I don’t know what I would choose, I was just a little baby at the time
Mine just says WW15 and has a picture of a green tiger in space
When I played on PC more EverQuest, counterstrike, TF2, wow, Skyrim
After playing more on console ff14, elder scrolls online, pillars of eternity 1/2, and souls games (ds2, ds3, bloodborne, elden Ring)
I also like to play Indies and smaller games but those are the ones I keep going back to
“What can change the nature of a man?”
A popular version of this in the Americas was sofky/sofke/sofkee/sofkey using cornmeal as a base ingredient: https://www.atlasobscura.com/foods/sofkee-sofkey-sour-corn
I thought so too but it ended up just being an encumbrance of vapors
If you want to just pick the fastest velocity we can measure and we’re currently moving at thanks to dark energy the Milky Way galaxy is moving away from other distant galaxies faster than the speed of light.
I can’t read these comics without being reminded of a character in Community reading “Warren Piece”
