    I’m cautiously pessimistic here.

I don’t want the game to be an easy one man shooter, where we land and everyone runs off in different directions.

The biggest thing I enjoy about the game is the teamwork. When the game was new I found a group to play with and we each assigned roles, one guy was using the spear, I was MG, we had a flamethrower, and an auto cannon. We just kept doing harder and harder missions, and the first time we ganged together to kill a bile titan was a truly epic moment in gaming. we were all yelling and celebrating.

Then we increased difficulty and dove again, and again, and again…

The fun part was the teamwork, I don’t want to lose that. I’ll never kill a bile titan for the first time again, but stealing that terminid egg from a L10 nest was pretty damn fun too! And it required multiple divers to cover each other and close bug holes.

Me personally, if I’m using a flamethrower I want it to feel strong. Cause I’m only ever gonna fight bugs with it that are right next to me.

I’m feeling good about the update, and I’m getting a little hype about it. The armor changes they’ve talked about so far, it never made sense to me that you had to use a select few weapons to be able to take down a bile titan easily. I always felt like if I shot the stupid thing enough, it should die eventually, and that seems to be the approach they’re taking.

Whether or they do a good job though, we’ll have to see in about a week.

I played with the flamethrower last night and I think it changed my opinion, I just didn’t have a good time, for whatever reason the game kept spawning chargers, there were literally 5 at once chasing me, which I’ve never seen happen.

I wasn’t able to manage it with the flamethrower.

So I guess I feel more in favor of the buff, but my concern about the one man army still stands (I just want that good balance)

It’s a core weakness of Helldivers 2. Since the game is no longer restricted to having all players within a tight radius (unlike the first game), the game allows for splitting up.

The only task that demands cooperation is the optional vault doors. All the other main objectives and side objectives can be solo’d. Terminid Chargers could be an excellent focal point for cooperation but flanking a charger doesn’t help kill it faster, it just lets you shoot the bottom half of its rear for 30 secs until you cause it to begin bleeding out.

It is safer for the rest of your team if you bring answers to all the problems on your own because you could be waiting for anyone to respawn. And if you have an answer to every enemy type then you might as well split up since you don’t need another pair of hands to complete any objective. Having multiple guys on the objective does not make it go faster, so it’s better to start countdowns simultaneously.

Yeah I can agree with that. There’s not enough clear reward for working together, and I guess the stick you get hit with when you run off on your own and hit overwhelming opposition is frustrating people.

Things run much smoother if you work in groups of two or one group of three and a person to run all the side objectives. It makes the game more fun too.
