Can’t don’t know my password to get back into lemmy.world. I got a new computer and lost everything. I had to get a new email and they don’t have a way to contact them directly.

Go on lemmy.world with your browser, open the sidebar and there they provide a whole support community. email, mastodon, discord, matrix etc

And remember this is the Fediverse. You can contact people from other servers, join those (support) communities with any account. You’re fine doing it with your new/temporary account.

while this is generally the intention, unfortunately we’re not always there yet.

i know that lemmy <-> piefed already works, but private messages between lemmy and mastodon users for example do not currently work, and there is also currently no indicator that those messages never were delivered. for lemmy <-> mastodon, this is tracked in https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/2657 and there is work going on right now to resolve this incompatibility.

      https://lemmy.world/post/17422981

"This new system would be for PRIVATE Messages as a supplement to our Lemmy.world Support community, which we do monitor very closely, and our ticket email info@lemmy.world, both for more technical issues. Think of it like the bat signal 🦇🎆!

To this end, we’ve created two methods for reaching the site-mod team directly.

A Lemmy Bot User that will relay DMs: https://lemmy.world/u/lwreport

      A dedicated email account: report@lemmy.world

We’ve also provided a Keyoxide profile https://keyoxide.org/hkp/report@lemmy.world for PGP / authenticity"
