I have posted about these bottles before, they are designated to be toasted when the world is freed from the respective person.

The ribbons are printed on a labelmaker in the P-touch series from Brother, and have the following names:

  • Trump
  • Putin
  • Orban
  • Musk

In these shit times this is my little protest against terrible people.

Good one. I saved a bottle of champagne for over 20 years waiting for the day that Thatcher died, then drank it while dancing naked in my garden singing “Ding dong the witch is dead”. Happy days.

Normally I warn people that saving wine for an occasion is a bad idea due to the fact that it doesn’t actually age in bottle save for champaigns and merlot but it looks like that’s wine you have so I’ll save you that speil.

Still though, saving bottles should only be done for something you can guarantee within 2 years for screw caps, and 5 for cork. After that the wine loses flavour. Champaign and merlot have a bit better shelf life and if kept right will age but will still degrade with enough time.

Guess I didn’t save you from my ramblings. Sorry for that.

Lastly, seems you’re storing that champain upside right. If you do that, the sandy grape solids and yeast will get mixed into the bottle. Upsode down, near or below freezing is the way to go. Unless that’s fake champaign thats really just sparkling wine in which case that’s not going to age well.

I don’t particularly like champagne or wine, I only do this for the memes.

You seem to know about this though, would it be dangerous to drink champagne that has been stored standing up for more than 4 years?

Not dangerous, no, just likely unpleasant. It’ll be grainy and lose the top notes (prevelent flavours)

Though if drinking champagne is already unplesent absolutely nothings changed so full send my guy.

This is funny btw, sorry for the info dump

Yeah when I turned 18 we went through 3 bottles of champagne/sparkling wine before we got to one that was drinkable. Turns out if you store them too long they just go bad.

Kudos to you. I don’t drink, but I may do my own version of this, and more people should too.

To these so-called “great leaders” who want to leave their idea of a great legacy even if they have to set the world on fire for their ego, few things are more powerful than that ever-present thought that can never go away from the back of their minds:

    • “Somewhere there’s these many ‘insignificant’ people just patiently waiting to pop the cork when I bite the dust, and I’ll be dead and they’ll be celebrating it.”

Try as they may to ignore it, their ego will never let it go. And that’s good. Let them know in their core that their legacy won’t be what they want it to be.

Sweet, if more people did something like this to show their absolute disdain for people like these, it could have a huge impact.

As for not drinking, yes the bottles in the background are bottles of rum, I used to enjoy drinking 2-3 drinks every other month, but I have recently decided to completely cut it out apart from on special occasions.

I just can’t really sleep well even after just drinking small amounts, oh and since I have a car now, I like being able to not worry about having had alcohol and being fit to drive.
