  • I’m currently dealing with neighborhood kids sledding into my chain link fence. I’ve seen several absolutely stun themselves on it. Yesterday I asked them to stop sledding into the fence, nicely but for like the 15th time since Monday. They took that as a challenge I guess, because they all started doing it. It’s going to cost me about $300 to fix it, as long as the posts are still straight.

Two have had to go to the er this week, and they went right back to sledding into my fence. The parents don’t care at all. Yesterday the cops managed to show up in time to catch a few and get their names, but about an hour later they were back at it.

I want to replace the fence with something more substantial, for privacy, but I’m actually worried one of these feral children will kill themselves on it

  • Sentencing isn’t always done at the same time a verdict is given. Often a judge will take time to research the punishments available in the law. Sometimes they’ll take advice on a person’s character, and consider the level of remorse the convict has for the crimes.

There was a small public outcry last year when a celebrity was convicted of sex crimes, and other celebrities known for their work against sex trafficking wrote to the judge to ask for leniency. It made the news because famous people were involved, but it’s a common occurrence.

He also wanted to wait to see what the Supreme Court would rule in the presidential immunity case, and I honestly can’t blame the man for delaying indefinitely following the results of that. This judge and his family received a lot of death threats and harassment from Trump’s supporters, but he also had to consider that Trump is immune to whatever crimes he chooses to commit in office.

Laser wavelengths targets melanin (a molecule with a specific color absorption and reflection), which is low in light colored hair or skin. Higher melanin density means a darker (appearing) color, so more opportunities for the light to react. This is why a dark hair color and light skin color has the best success with laser.

  • I’m not in retail anymore, and I never did clothing retail, but working in theater costuming has really changed my ideas. Like, I know I am fat because at my height and weight my bmi puts me well in obese territory. But measuring people a few inches taller has put an interesting spin in my head. I know someone with the same bust size who is three inches taller and now I understand why some “large” sizes will fit both of us even though by size my cup is several sizes larger than her.

People have been telling me for years that I’m “not fat”. I know they are delusional because of the numbers, but seeing other people with similar measurements does actually put it into perspective.

  • I think you can try both at the same time actually.

You got an awesome taste from your friends on what clothing design can be. Do you have a theater in your school, or a local professional one? You can try costume design for more of the “this is what it’s like as work” idea. I’m not going to lie, you might even find work as a sculptor in theater, but your background in sculpting will definitely feed your experience as a costume designer or even just in costume construction. So you could spend two years in consume construction as a hobby and decide that’s what you really do, then move into a master program with fashion design.
