There are as many houses as people want but not all the the quality or location they want. Manufactured homes can be dropped on lots for a fraction of the price. People live in the central valley and commute so they can have a home for much less. The world will never have everything everyone wants the way they want it. Thats not this world.

If them buying it denied other legitimate buyers with the same purchasing power from doing so, then yes. A home is too unique a purchase to be scalped though. It’s like art in that the house is the only 1 one available exactly like it. The same exact house built on a corner or further in on the block have different values.

2 pairs of the exact same sneaker treated the same from the same production run are practically identical. Market manipulation through scalping is the only method to raise it’s price at the time of market sale.

Tickets have a limited duration they hold ANY value so their prices can be manipulated through scalping too.

Houses just shouldn’t be in the same conversation.

  • The more well known something is, the more criticism it will receive. Also with movie prices going up and Disney reminding everyone each year how little they care about fans, it’s not a surprise people have cooled on their decade old properties.

They are also spending more to make objectively less exciting projects. When the first Avengers movies were coming out it was impressive how well they brought comics to life. It’s not impressive any more with so many examples, so they aren’t pushing the bounds of expectations anymore. They have to wow people now with writing and performances.

I think the decision makers are also making more diversity choices (in the wrong way) and have the PR teams talk too much about how proud they are of their DEI choices instead of how they like the movie they made.

Black Nick Fury is best Nick Fury. Black Panther was incredibly well received. I felt like Moonknoght was better received than I was expecting. Miles Morales was a very popular Spiderman iteration. So I don’t think it’s just racism.

They just need to acknowledge who’s actually buying tickets. It sometimes feels like the same complaints people make about the WNBA not making a bunch of money.

  • The best example I can think of where the race choices really got stupid to the point of offensive was the first “The Last Airbender” movie where the director race swapped the entire fire nation to Indian, made the water nation white when they probably should have been Innuit or something similar, then chose to mispronounce the main characters name to make it sound more ethnic when the source material was in English, so they knew exactly how it should be pronounced.

Then for whatever reason, people got mad that the main character was white when it was the only character animated in such a way they could be white, and the tribe was a nomadic collection of people making it somewhat possible albeit not relevant to the nation theming of the other nations.

Anyways, this triggered my annual Last Airbender rant, so sorry about that.

  • As a person with 3 cats, I get what you’re saying. You’re getting down voted, but we all know cats can devistate local wild life populations.

Rescuing them and making them indoor cats is the responsible thing to do, but I don’t think any vegans would argue with that.

I think its after those establishing facts that the discussion is taking place.

I personally am not a fan of any breeding programs when there are so many cats and dogs available to rescue, but that’s just me.

Yes. It’s making fun of people like me who are completely incapacitated for a day when I get a migrane/fever but get hit by some random thing and start bleeding and just shrug it off.

Women get lots of practice being miserable and carrying on with their menstrual cycles, while guys like me generally feel fine for monthes at a time, with normal aches and pains, then just fall apart with the sniffles.

It’s a relatable truth/joke in alot of relationships.
