In the US it’s frequently wet cured to save money. At the deli there are a lot of varieties of ham that mostly just taste sweet, with no noticeable ham flavor or saltiness. This is what usually ends up on Hawaiian pizza.

I should probably look at unblocking the instances. I used those blocks early on to remove a massive number of communities I was uninterested in, but it has the side effect of also functionally blocking those users.
I do wish there were better tagging and filtering tools. Some of the communities I’ve blocked might have posts I’m interested in, but there’s currently no way to surface those from under the mountain of memes.
I’d also love to be able to block posts but not comments from specific users. There’s a handful of topics I don’t care about, and some of the blocked users are just very interested in those topics.

Variant on your dish: bake sweet potato, add cottage cheese and eat immediately. Add sweet or savory seasonings to taste. It’s not something I’d bring to share, but it’s definitely not something I’ll hide. As far as quick and dirty meals, it’s reasonably healthy, and probably not the worst suggestion for someone who struggles to cook for themselves.

It may depend quite a bit on the pill. As an adult I can easily dry swallow things like ibuprofen. But I’m not sure about something like oral steroids.
I was prescribed them as a kid due to a particularly bad poison ivy reaction. I couldn’t swallow pills at the time, so after running through all the tricks to teach someone, we ended up grinding them up and sticking them in ice cream. It was something like 15 years before I could eat cookies and cream again without tasting steroids. Grinding them definitely exacerbated the problem, but I’m not sure how I’d fare if prescribed the same pills again.
Too many. I wish Lemmy had post tags, it would make things easier. There are communities I would be interested in, if I had any tools to help see the things I care about.
I’m left with more politics than I’d like, but that’s still preferable to anything I block.

Which makes sense, his books weren’t popular in English until after the release of Blade Runner, which coincided with his death. Maybe the popularity of the movie would’ve given him more time and resources to revise future works.

The decision to use Adobe suite is more likely to be a company wide decision. Part of Adobe suite lock-in is also familiarity making things faster. By promoting others, that may help future generations avoid at least part of the problem.
Google services may be much more piecemeal. Even if the boss personally happens to think there’s a productivity benefit to using a given search engine, it would be unusual to block others.
Practicing what you preach is sometimes important, but I’m not sure how much it bears on these issues. A single company eschewing either won’t make a difference. Getting the public to slowly consider alternatives may.

On the topic of Italian authors, I loved Italo Calvino’s “If on a winter’s night a traveler” as well. I didn’t really expect it to pay off as a cohesive work. I was mostly along for the ride and was pleasantly surprised.

Pineapple and anchovies might be the two stanard toppings that are really build-arounds. Most other standard pizza toppings seem closer to “do whatever, it’ll be fine”
The ham used on pizzas around here (northeast US), usually isn’t salty enough to work on a Hawaiian pizza. It’s often deli ham, which runs the risk of being sweet, but otherwise flavorless.
Bacon or pepperoni work better. Jalapeno also helps.
