Big family gatherings. I did not particularly enjoyed them growing up (I come from big extended families) but when I became a parent they were unbereable so I just stopped attending. I couldn’t fathom to subject my child to all that nonsense. Best decision ever! While cousins fight over who brings what side dish for Christmas I will be relaxing in a hammock by the beach, thank you very much.
I share this sentiment. School was such a drag and I miss nothing about it.
Good for you OP! Spanish is such a rich, beautiful sounding language.
My best bet, aside from full immersion is to first, take lessons in order to learn good foundations and know how stuff works and then, hire a language coach who can help you with your specific request.
Source: I help people doing exactly that. Some want to learn an accent, some want to lose an accent, some people need help getting more confident in their second or third language, etc.
Well, I kept trying to squat like most people do trying so hard not to lean forward and kept falling over on my ass lol. That and also I couldn’t feel the work in my glutes, only quads. Are you familiar with the way little children squat? I still can’t do it but getting better every day by practicing.
Turns out I have super tight hips and that prevented me of hinging correctly, plus the aformentioned femur/torso ratio.
I hired a personal trainer in january of this year to help me out with stuff and she helped me correct my form. Now I use a pair of those foam wedge things under my heels to prop me up in a better position and I can squat way better. It was a game changer.
Learning the proper way to squat for my long femurs/short torso body. It makes such a difference in how and where I feel the muscle work. Knees over toes be damned!
I always get my SO three things every year: one thing he really wants (This year is a pair of submarine shears), something he needs (New hiking boots) and something that he wouldn’t get for himself (A week in cabin/shack at secluded beach in the caribbean to fish, scuba dive and relax).
Coordinar! Just remember to use it sparingly and not let it become part of your personality.
Malignant compliance maybe? I had a boss who kept nagging me about stuff she didn’t even know how to do so I decided to give her my undivided absolute attention calling her every time I was going to do somehing, every time while I was doing it, every time after completing the task and so on.
I did this for a while and only as a last resort because I was fed up with her attitude. It worked like a charm! Lol
Thank you. Will do.
Interesting factoid: X-box (hyphenated) comes from the ancient Mayan Xboox where “X” is the femenine article and “boox” the noun meaning black/dark, literally meaning “The dark one”.
The town got its name after a local legend that stated that a dark woman figure appeared by the town’s water well.

I caught myself in an old defense mechanism loop and was able to stop, breath, sit with the discomfort and own that motherfucking trauma response for what it is, then dismiss it and carry on with my day. So, like a very proud ten.
Yeah now they do and I feel kinda vindicated TBH. Back when I was a kid this dish was compared to dog food by some of my classmates and teachers, I kid you not. Maybe I still carry some of that trauma and I wouldn’t serve it to guests but I will gladly cook it for me and my kid, who also loves it.
Uuyyyyy me acordé de los taquitos de manteca con sal el fila de las tortillas. Que delicia!
Thank you for taking your time to explain what these were to my ignorant ass lol
Cut up tortillas, fry them with some salt, when crispy crack two or three eggs in there and scramble. I grew up eating it and while it is delicious I don’t think I would serve it to guests.
I’m sorry, pickled what now? Is it some obscure vegetable I’ve never heard about? Or are they like actual bird eyes like from a chicken?
Finding a great trauma informed therapist. After many attempts and being scalped, I finally found her and she has been the most compassionate, understanding and to the point therapist I could ever ask for.
Finding a great doctor who actually listens and has helped me tons with my condition.
I just I didn’t have to pay so much money to access these professionals, not that they don’t deserve it, they do!
Yes I was, my parents wanted me to practice my english. I lived with a family in Indiana for a bit and then lived with another familly in North Dakota. Both families were different but I liked the one in Bismarck better, the girls from the Muncie family were mean to me the whole time. My parents booked the experience through a private agency, not really sure how that worked (it was the nineties). ETA: I was 12 years old when I started the exchange and went back to my home country at 15
