He’s not even an oligarch. He’s the oligarchs’ toadie.
If this reaches the real oligarchs, we might see some change—and backlash but backlash is inevitable if before real change.
Are you suggesting that people unsatisfied with a system that works mainly in the interest of a small group of elites will give power to some narcissistic, sadistic creep just to feel some vicarious sense of that power? It’s not like that could happen in real life, certainly not more than once in modern history. I mean, come on!
And you might want to reset your calibration data, first.
Handy tip:
In the USA, the lines on a highway are 10 ft long, the spaces between them are 30 ft.
So, a line and a space are about two car lengths. It’s a handy way to judge how close you are to the car ahead. At highway speeds, you want 3-4 lines between you.
That’s not how you calculate profit. Their revenue might exceed their costs so far but they have to keep spending. The game isn’t done and it costs money to just keep the lights on.
Look, I don’t know their financials. I’m just correcting what you claimed and pointing out what the article is claiming which is that their spending appears to be outpacing their revenue.
As of 2022, according to its financials, the company has spent $637 million on development, with 2020 – 2022 averaging over $106 million a year. Assuming that the company continues spending around $100+ million a year, it doesn’t take a mathematician to realize that the $790 million raised so far at the time of writing is on the verge of, or has likely, run out.
No, the article is claiming $700M in development costs—based on $637M spent by 2022–and $790M raised. They’re speculating that the company is going to run out of money soon.
I hope the writing in the comic is better than that article. I can’t tell if it’s AI or a poor writer who had a word quota.
The one to the right of Sweetums reminds me of Kristen Schaal.
Don’t bother, Meta’s Metaverse is going to blow it away! /s
President was a Republican. They all felt threatened and got scared as they do. Like when that same Republican banned assault rifles after black people started carrying them openly.
That was back in the early 19th century.
I think you mean 20th century. There was no jazz in the 1800s.
She’s got a lot more credentials than that.
Interesting director choice. Though, I kind of wish they would pretend Ep 7-9 never happened. Rey could have been a much better character and the sequels could have been better than a rehash of Ep 4-6.
Pretty sure that’s a Pokemon Go convention. Of course they’re looking at their phones. That’s how the game is played.
In don’t think anyone can tell you from a photo. You need an arborist to look at it.
You can talk to the neighbor and express your concern. Ideally, have a paper trail in case something does happen.
You can have an arborist trim any branches hanging over your property without asking the neighbor.
I would get an estimate from a couple arborists for the trimming what’s over your yard. Then, approach the neighbor and offer to pay that amount towards having the whole thing trimmed—must include trimming the parts over your yard.
I wouldn’t pay until the work is done.
If you don’t know the neighbor at all and/or can’t be sure they’re trustworthy, I’d just get the part over your yard done.
tldr; it’s basically Apple Arcade for any kind of app. $10/month for ad-free, nag-less apps, and no in-app purchases. E course, the selection is limited.
Personally, I don’t see it working. I don’t need that many apps. I don’t spend anywhere close to $10 every month for apps. I actively avoid subscriptions and in-app purchases anyway.
It’s like a memetic form of neoteny, “the retention of juvenile traits into adulthood.”
I’m waiting for the day when a politician responds to a motion on the floor with “bruh.”
Baking soda can be used to brush teeth. There are brands of baking soda that have their own line of toothpastes that have baking soda as an ingredient.
