I switched my work laptop to Linux(Nixos+Gnome) as soon as I could after they announced they were going to be using an AI in the OS. Been loving it ever since, and the peace in knowing they aren’t spying on me as well is a really nice added benefit.

The lemmy devs should add a feature to their website where you can just create and account and it creates and account on an instance that is closest geographically to the IP address you are connecting from and is federated with the most servers.
Single place for normies to make an account and they don’t have to think about the federation bits, but if they get interested they can always make an account manually on another instance.

What does the issue do?
My first company I worked for used crowdstrike. Does it think the computer is infected and locking them down?
I tried saving to a file that required root and it didn’t give any prompt to enter the password. On VSCodium normally if you are trying to write to a file that requires sudo then it prompts you.
Is there a way to save to root files with Zed?
I’ve never so readily said “yes please” when looking at something before.

Are Nixos configurations compatible with this one?
There were tons of humanoid species around before we killed them all. Neanderthals, etc. Wonder why they’re dead? Could be this.
I already had some previous NixOS experience, so that might have made it a little bit easier, but other than that, it was pretty seamless. It has OneDrive, Teams in the Nix store, and then I use just the web browser version of Outlook, because it’s the exact same as the desktop version. Other than that, yeah, everything’s seamless.
