i got around this by opening cmd (Shift + F10) during the setup and disabling the network adapter.
wmic nic get name, index
wmic path win32_networkadapter where index = 2 call disable
index will be 1 or 2 probably depending on your setup it was 2 for me. this worked for me recently on boxes on fedora with a win10 iso.
lol
CEOs aren’t innocent

idk if you’re having the same issue but unborking my $PS1 fixed this for me. left right arrow keys should let you edit the command.
yeah I think you’re supposed to be able to but it seems borked for me too. my terminal kinda freaks out when I try to move the cursor to the right to edit the command.
edit the borking was for sure because i had a broken custom $PS1. i reset it to something normal and i’m able to edit the commands pulled up with Ctrl + R just fine now by hitting the right arrow key.
not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but on my Konsole (I think it’s actually just a bash feature), Ctrl+R lets you search through your command history and easily pull up past commands. it’s called reverse-i-search
if you wanna check it out.
i found endeavor to be nicer than Manjaro but tbh I’m at the stage where i just recommend installing arch. it’s gotten a lot easier. endeavor is also arch based though so I’d go with that if you want super easy install / extra stuff installed ootb
well it’s a fairly addictive drug and physical and psychological dependency can creep up on you. your life can begin to revolve around the next joint at a certain point and it can make you apathetic to a depressive routine of not going out much or pushing yourself to do anything other than play videogames and smoke. some people will attest that it aids motivation for them but i find the inverse to be more common. in terms of purely physical detrimental effects it’s definitely nbd compared to cigs or alcohol, but knock-on effects from ending up in a sedentary lifestyle and eating poor quality food can be a concern with heavy users, it can also exacerbate depression or anxiety with heavy dependency. you can end up depending on it just to go to the store or do social interaction or even pull yourself out of bed. speaking as a 10+ year stoner who has had better and worse periods with this stuff. ultimately it’s a massive reduction in harm compared to say alcohol dependency but people definitely underrated the damage it could do for a while, up until a few years ago where that started seeing some healthy pushback. it obviously has legitimate medicinal applications too but ime self medication can spiral into recreational dependency quite easily.
endeavor keeps pushing updates with cringe AI desktop backgrounds and its making me want to install vanilla arch
you’re mostly identifying quirks of capitalism. you need dialectical materialism. cops and judges are straight up agents of capital and are the arm of the state which exerts its monopoly on violence. they are more or less all bad people by definition and your enemies. doctors under capitalism act as gatekeepers of live saving medical care and profit off people’s need for it. also usually from privileged backgrounds so lacking empathy and likely your class enemy if they own their own practice. another unsavoury bunch. teachers generally are better people with at least some kind of noble goals but the school system under capitalism is more akin to prison and is inherently abusive. individual teachers can’t exactly change the system much from the inside so a lot of them end up perpetuating the cycle of it.
KDE Plasma on my PC, just use i3 on my laptop. prefer using the mouse on a pc, prefer not using it on a laptop.
seconding Fedora, i used to use archbased only but recently switched from win10 on my main machine and wanted a handy out of the box gamer distro with stability, been using Nobara which is really nice. of course you can get vanilla fedora configured just fine for gaming, etc. my draw was just the convenience factor. there is also Bazzite another “gamer” distro based on fedora atomic so even more stable.
piracy is moral and should be encouraged actually
i have faith this will be resolved eventually/they will have to admit kernel anticheat isn’t even meaningfully more effective and give up on it. anyway loads of people don’t play multiplayer AAA so it’s a no brainer already for them. as the mass of people migrating continues to grow devs/publishers hopefully will have to catch up. 2% of the steam hardware survey is linux now, it could be 5% within the decade. that’s my optimistic outlook, i know i shouldn’t underestimate how out of touch the epic games suits etc. are though
