Kenobi… man. I was excited, but honestly… the fight with Vader just fucked up so much of the continuity for me. You knew nothing was at stake because they’d have to fight later in ANH. Also, it completely invalidated Vader’s while tirade about “last time we met, you were the master” because Vader effectively kicked his ass. It was a meh story that didn’t need to happen IMHO

That “woke” shit is so fucking stupid. Rogue One has a pretty obviously gay couple and that movie is universally loved. One can even make the argument that when the empire was in charge that OF FUCKING COURSE gay people wouldn’t be out. It’s even cannon that the empire was racist towards non humans.

If the stories are good, fans will eat it up. That some reprobate is butthurt because a main character isn’t a straight, white dude is the dumbest shit.

Conversely, I hope this series is good, because if it isn’t, I won’t want to talk about it and inadvertently join the chorus of those mouthbreathers who are all screaming go woke go broke when legitimate criticisms with that show have NOTHING to do with that

My road bike and mountain bikes aren’t even top tier and both individually coast twice that. A new, tricked out Moots or SWorks is $15k.

A $4k eBike can replace your car and save tons more in the long run

Get something mainstream. As long as the bike has one of the following engine systems: Shimano, Bosch, Specialized, Mahle, TQ and a couple others I can’t think of off hand. Any of the other weird ones are often impossible to diagnose and work on

Bafang motors are a crap shoot. They make a couple that are okay, but also a lot of low end, sketchy systems.

Electra has a couple of cheaper models that come in under $2k. While the motors themselves aren’t unsafe, I think the bikes themselves have underpowered brakes and the like. Something like the Specialized Globe is $2800 and is a pretty solid, utilitarian platform.

Avoid Rad Power, Lectric, Super 73, and any of the other weird, fly by night direct to consumer Asian brands

I work at a bike shop. This is the main reason why we refuse to service cheap, direct to consumer bikes. Plus, most use non standard parts, underpowered brakes, etc. They’re non serviceable death traps

I feel terrible for that guy. Sadly most consumers don’t know. They see one bike that’s $1200 while most are $4000+ and they think they’re getting a deal

A lot of this shit is affected by what you eat. If I eat a lot of sugar and gluten it definitely affects my skin and dandruff 2-3 days later.

Besides what a lot of people said, try to stick to foods that don’t cause inflammation or reactions.

JIS is more common on Japanese machines, ie Japanese cars and motorcycles. When I was a bike mechanic you used JIS for Shimano derailleur adjustment screws. Even tho a Phillips “fit” it would destroy the screw.

I actually can’t tell them apart from sight truth be told, but I’m also not wrenching anymore (not to mention the cycling industry largely moved on to hex and torx)

Nowadays if I meet a woman I totally get if they don’t want to connect outside of an app before meeting and I don’t think they’re (necessarily) assholes if I get ghosted. People’s behavior has made this sort of thing necessary so I try not to take it personally.

God Emperor is essentially a fever dream. I was like WTF while reading it but I love how off the rails it went.

The last couple are kind of meandering and forgettable.

The immediate prequels (house books) are a fun read and plotted well, but his kid isn’t as good of a writer as poppa Herbert

The legends books are garbage

The last 2 books that tie up the original series (hunters and sandworms) are not good and are infuriating in that elements from the legends books are reintroduced as deus ex machina bullshit. I saw the twist coming halfway through the last book.

I never read any of the other gap filler books that have been written in that universe. It got tiresome

Everything up until God Emperor is worthwhile with the prequels being a fun appetizer. Read the synopses of the others if you need to know what happens
