Software both works perfectly (on the developers machine and most deployed instances) and fails dramatically (on some significant subset of deployed instances).

This makes the software both a success (since it works, and can generate revenue) and a failure (since it is unreliable, and may alienate paying customers).

FWIW they should be configurable in your browser, either directly or with a plug-in.

The post makes a pretty reasonable argument as to why it’s a good idea.

We might be hitting tipping points due to climate change. Methane being released from permafrost, ocean currents in the north Atlantic stopping/slowing and fucking over Europe.

That will mess with food production. It’s gonna be bad for us and worse for our kids.
